Vinyasa Flow – Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement.” Thus, students will be instructed to move from one asana (pose) to the next utilizing various breathing techniques. Vinyasa Flow Yoga classes are structured so that one posture flows seamlessly into the next. This yoga style infuses movement with a serene dance-like quality, while preserving the meditative focus.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga - The Ashtanga method of asana practice was interpreted by Krishnamacharya and Sri K. Pattabhi Jois from an ancient text called the Yoga Korunta, which described a unique system of hatha yoga developed by Vamana Rishi. The Ashtanga Yoga method involves a focus on bandhas (internal locks/seals), ujjayi breath (“victorious breath”), sun salutations, standing and seated series of asanas (postures). Here, the breath, bandhas, and asanas create internal cleansing through sweating.
