A bellygram is a fun way to surprise a friend, significant other, or family member at work, in a restaurant, or at a party. A bellygram lasts 10-15 minutes, and it consists of one bellydancer (Jenna) and a select number of songs (traditional or progressive, depending on the theme). Typically the bellygram is a surprise for a particular person who is celebrating his or her birthday, anniversary, engagement, promotion, retirement, etc.
What to expect: The bellygram is arranged by a co-worker, friend, significant other, or family member who wants to surprise or embarrass someone. A date, time, and fee is arranged and agreed upon. The bellydancer is paid previous to the bellygram. The bellydancer appears in costume at the set location with a cd and/or cd player. The music is set up and the bellydancer is announced. The bellydancer then enters the room and dances for the person(s) being honored. The bellydancer is not touched nor touches anyone present. The bellydancer remains in costume throughout the set, and she entertains everyone present with the beauty of an ancient, serpentine dance. During the dance, tips can be given by placing them in the bellydancer's arm bands or in her hands. After the set is finished, pictures can be taken with the bellydancer. After pictures, the bellydancer exits the building.
